Boasting a glorious panda dial with piercing blue accents favoured by late racing driver Jo Siffert, this rare manual wind ‘Siffert’ Autavia is regarded with much adoration in the Heuer collector community. Manufactured around 1972, this watch incorporates the Valjoux 7734 movement, which was increasingly rare in this period as Heuer, after 1969, had produced the large majority of their watches with the automatic Calibre 11 movement. The scarcity of this reference, heightened by its twin sub-dials and date window, makes this watch a real treasure.
This watch stands in very fine condition with minimal wear to the surrounding tachymeter bezel. Beneath the light marks on the glass stands a well preserved, yet beautifully aged dial. Light patina on the dial has resulted in a luscious cream colour, contrasting with the rich black sub-dials and vibrant blue accents/second hand. The aesthetic pleasure radiated by this watch, coupled with its increasing rarity makes this a must-have in any vintage Heuer collection.
