Heuer Jarama Ref. 110.225

Model Code: 110.225

SOLD

The 1970s saw Heuer expanding its range of chronographs through the release of the Daytona, Cortina, Kentucky and Jarama. Named after the Spanish Formula 1 track forever linked with Gilles Villeneuve, the Heuer Jarama was added to the Heuer 1978 under three varations. This 110.225 reference incorporates a distinct gold fluted bezel, similar to that of the Rolex Turnographs of the 1960s, surrounding a champagne coloured dial. The inner bezel features both a Tachymeter scale (60 to 220 units per hour) and Pulsometer. This version is presented on an original bi-metallic silver and gold-plated bracelet with Heuer signed clasp.

This particular example has a fascinating racing background. It’s previous owner is Jack Baldwin, a race car driver holding a series of accolades and achievements over his career spanning four decades. Jack holds wins in every series he competed in, with many victories in every major race track in the United States. Such victories include 5 professional Championship wins and over 30 major pro races including one Daytona 24 Hour win and two 12 hours of Sebring wins. A legend of the sport, Jack’s Heuer Jarama has accompanied him through years of racing and glory, certainly giving this watch some character.

A rare late ’70s Heuer with the most incredible story, this Heuer Jarama, in good condition, is one of the most exciting pieces we’ve seen in a long time.
