The Autavia’s life began on the dashboard, enabling both pilots and drivers to time their journeys accurately. These origins provide the Autavia with its name through the combination of AUTomobile and AVIAtion. Its impressive legibility for the rally driver or navigator was one of its most prominent features. The design of the dash-mounted Autavia is undeniably cool and a highly desirable collectors item in the Heuer community. With this Super Autavia, the white system (now aged to a creamy patina) indicates the time of day and the red system indicates the time of trip. This model was in the Heuer catalogue from 1960 til 1972 and remains highly desirable and increasingly difficult to source.
