Continuing their partnership with TAG Heuer, HODINKEE sought to revive another classic 1960s chronograph – their choice was the Carrera Dato ref. 3147N. A single subdial chronograph with date, the 3147N reference was the first Carrera with a calendar complication, and also the first chronograph wristwatch ever to feature a rotating date wheel display. This reference found the nickname “Dato 45” for both its elapsed 45-minute register at three o’clock and a date display.

This sleeping legend, revered for its saturated monochrome display, has been given newfound prestige through HODINKEE’s widly popular limited reinterpretation. Importantly, the 36mm case has been upgraded to the 39mm vintage-inspired ‘glassbox’ case. Equipped with TAG Heuer’s flagship Calibre HEUER 02 automatic movement, this reference is limited to just 250 pieces.

A fabulous release and another successful outing from HODINKEE and TAG Heuer, the revived Dato 45 Carrera is a perfect tribute to one of the most essential vintage chronographs.
