This unique chronograph features the text ‘McLAREN WORLD CHAMPIONS 1974’ beneath the hands, in place of the ‘AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH’ text featured on standard 1553S models. Representing Heuer’s intimate relationship with motorsport, this very special Carrera model is a historic and rare artefact of the fierce and glorious years of ’70s racing

The 1553S reference itself is a superb example of one of Heuer’s most cutting-edge Carrera designs. This Carrera 1553s stands in fine condition and is proving to be an increasingly rare find. Many of this watch’s ingenuity is observable amidst the smart silver dial with the signature grey line below the sub-seconds. This interesting placement of the Carrera logo, repositioned beside the 9 o’clock index, is completely unique to the 1553 Carrera, making this piece all the more desirable. Contrasting from the grey and silver display is the vibrant orange chronograph reaching precisely the 1/5-second track on the outer edge of the dial.

Presented on its original GF bracelet, this Carrera 1553S is powered by a Calibre 15 automatic movement and is in great working order. A historic, colletible timepiece, believed to be only one of 10-25 produced by Heuer, this Carrera is the empitomy of vintage Heuer collecting.
