The undisputed king of Heuers. The 1133B Monaco is one of the few wristwatches to transcend into popular culture. Famously adorned and hand-picked by Steve McQueen in the 1971 film ‘Le Mans’, the Monaco represents the foundation of Heuer’s intimate connection with motorsport on the silver screen. Imagery of McQueen wearing his famous blue dialled Monaco have fuelled TAG Heuer’s branding for decades to come, with the design of the Monaco remaining largely unchanged over many re-releases. A famously disruptive design, the case and makeup of the Monaco revolutionised the typical ’60s timepiece. Its square case shape and makeup, allowing it to be water resistant, was something never undertaken before. This blue dialled classic is powered by the esteemed Calibre 12 automatic movement – featuring the brand’s newest innovation in the micro-roter. This example is a perfect relic of the golden age of ’60s watchmaking. Undeniably the 1133B is the face of the Heuer brand, representing its legacy like no other.
This example is one of the finest we have had. Totally original and unpolished. The dial is strong with no degrading and movement fully serviced and running fine. The watch comes with a card “pencil” Monaco box, guarantee booklet, period catalogue and a previous sales invoice from 2020 showing the watch sold for 18990 euro.
