Given its name from the beautiful city in Northern Italy, this Heuer Verona is one of Heuer's most elegantly designed watches to emerge from the 1970s. The combination of intricately crafted hands amidst a glossy black dial has become the key characteristic of Verona models, with this version in particular incorporating a golden bezel, crown and pushers in keeping with the spirit of the late '70s. However the Verona stands as an elegant contrast from the vibrant, oversized designs of the late '70s. Often celebrated by Heuer enthusiasts is the Verona's comparisons to early manual-wind Carrera models from 1963 with regard to its simple round case, internal tachymeter ring and a clear, open dial. This model in particular is very rare, becoming increasingly difficult to find. From its release in 1978, the model had a very short life-span in the Heuer catalogue, making this reference is remains highly sought after. It stands in outstanding condition, exposing clean, classic lines and a glossy black dial. Measuring at 38mm and powered by a Calibre 12 automatic movement, this Heuer Verona is a rare and elegant watch which can be admired both for its breath-taking design and intriguing past.
