The now famous and iconic Heuer Monaco disappeared from the Heuer catalogue around 1975, finding only moderate success from its unique shape. However the late ’90s saw TAG Heuer taking a look back at their legacy, celebrating iconic collections through their series of ‘re-edition’ pieces. In the present, the Monaco remains one of TAG Heuer’s most popular and widely celebrated pieces, a legacy upheld by famous Steve McQueen and motor racing iconography. This particular CS2110 Monaco model is important, representing an important period where TAG Heuer chose to embrace their brand’s heritage and celebrate timeless designs of the past.
This model’s stripped back monochrome design stands unique among a wide catalogue of Monaco dial variations. Its ‘crosshair’ seconds counter offers a resolute sense of style and function, only emphasised by its singular use of the ‘Heuer’ name. Popular among collectors, this Heuer only branding was applied to only series one and two Monaco re-edition models, thus making the CS2110 all the more desirable. Limited to 5000 pieces, this model remains in outstanding condition and is accompanied by its original packaging and booklets dated June 1998.
