Originally created to celebrate Niki Lauda’s championship victory in 1977, the Heuer Monza is a model graced with rich racing heritage and exceptional design. Heuer catalogues state that this model in particular, with the notable absence of the ‘Monza’ print on the dial, was manufactured until 1985. This version is the highly sought after black PVD version, of which show slight signs of minor brassing but faces up well and looks superb on the wrist. The stainless-steel screw-back case is signed with the ‘Monza’ sign above the Heuer logo, with the reference and serial number printed beneath. Situated on the left side is the signed crown and corresponding on the right are two integrated chronograph pushers.
This watch is powered by an automatic 12-hour chronograph movement. It has a width of 39mm (excluding crown), commanding a great presence on the wrist. The sharp contrasts of vibrant red and white accents with the deep black dial and case make this watch a favourite amongst collectors. Appropriately this Monza has been fitted to a black alligator strap with matching red stitching to complete such a refined look.
