The star of Baselworld 2016, TAG Heuer’s re-edition Monza was released to much fanfare across the Heuer collecting community. Created in commemoration of the Monza model on its 40th anniversary, this slick CR2080 reference incorporates the rich black silhouette of the original PVD model. A fitting interpretation of its predecessor, this limited edition reference sold quickly upon release- revered by the Heuer faithful as a certified future classic.
The new Monza uses a titanium case, blackened with titanium carbide. The case is 42mm and, like the original from 1976, leaves the steel pushers uncoated. To complete the vintage look, this model is presented on a TAG Heuer calfskin rally-strap with vintage-style large holes. Powered by a Calibre 17 movement, this example is numbered #3400 It is accompanied by its original Monza branded box and no papers. Another example of TAG Heuer’s readiness to harness the legacy of past icons in a contemporary but classic design. This Monza shines as one of the greatest limited edition watches to grace the TAG Heuer catalogue.
